Off to Scotand

Maddie and I had a pretty busy week! She went to the sitter (which we love) on her usual Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-2. We had a mommy/ daughter shopping day in London on Monday, went to sign language on Wednesday, hosted a dinner party on Thursday night, and a squadron social on Friday. During this crazy and busy week Madison has been teething (we think) and has been a little extra fussy:/ We picked up Adam Saturday morning from the airport and left for Scotland on Sunday:) We have a fun week planned so we will update again soon!

Weekly Update

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted! There hasn't been to much going on over here. Sad to say summer is officially over, it's back to cold, rainy days:( Maddie started a sign language class this week although she doesn't seem to interested in it. We are hoping to just get her to sign some of the basics- milk, more, all done, dirty diaper. It might be a while though because when I sign to her she just looks at me like I'm crazy! I have been working on refinishing a small piece of furniture! It's kind of fun yet time consuming! I think my Grandpa Haguewood would be proud and surprised:)  Adam is in Oklahoma City for two weeks for a training class. He is visiting Lee and Laura this weekend and Ross is there too! They are just watching some football and eating some good food- sounds like they are having a great time! Last but not lease we can officially announce that we are going to be an aunt and uncle in March of 2014!! That's right Ross and Liz are having a baby and we could not be more excited for them! Here area few pictures from the week.

Paris

After enjoying Epernay we headed to Paris, we were only there for 2 1/2 days but we managed to hit all of the major sites. On day one, we went to the Palace of Versailles, the Eiffel Tower, and the Love Lock Bridge. People put padlocks on this bridge as a symbol of their everlasting love for one another and there were literally thousands of locks all over this bridge! We wrote all three of our names on our lock, locked it to the bridge, and then Madison tossed the key over into the river Seine. On the second day we started off at the Louvre museum, one of the largest museums in the world. We checked out the Mona Lisa and then headed to the Napoleon State rooms.  We absolutely loved seeing these rooms, they were beautiful! After the Louvre, we got on the "hop-on-hop-off tour bus" and made our way around Paris. We saw almost all of the major sites. We then toured Notre Dame and took a boat cruise down the river Seine. The cruise was beautiful, you can see most all of the sites right on the river. On our last day, we walked to the Sacre Coeur which was close to our hotel. It was at the top of a huge hill which wasn't much fun climbing up, but the view at the top was totally worth it! We had a great time overall; the weather was perfect, the people were friendly, and the crepes were amazing!

Epernay, France

Adam had a four day weekend for Labor Day, so we decided to take a drive down to France. We took the Euro tunnel over and it was quite impressive. We just drove our car onto the train and in 30 min we were in France! Did I mention that the train went under the English Channel?! I tried not to think about that part... We then drove to Epernay, which is in the Champagne area to hang out for the day. We visited a couple Champagne Houses, did a tasting, and then took a tour of Moet and Chandon. It was really neat to learn the process of how Champagne is made. We also got to tour their HUGE underground cellars where they age the Champagne for a minimum of two years. The tour guide didn't know exactly how many bottles were down there but it is certainly in the millions! This area in France is absolutely beautiful, I wish we had more time to spend there but we had to move on to see Paris!
